Also, I love how I'm playing a single player game, but still face severe lag issues. That was definitely my favorite part.
Yeah. What the fuck. Waiting for a multi-player update on collecting and kills. That's a bit piss poor.

I vehemently hate their new system in dIII. What a great way to make every character more boring. Oh well.
Yeah, Diablo without working on finding an optimal build? Where's the fun in that. Actually, it sucks even from formal game design viewpoint. It removes a long-term goal that was very crucial in making the game engaging / addicting.

Considering that there's heaps more skills now (and many runes that change the skills), I'm pretty sure you'll be trying to make an optimal build of 6 skills that you like and not just randomly picking them. I think the combat (at hell/inferno) has the potential to be really engaging/intense and more interesting than just using 2/3 skills (Diablo 2).

I like the concept of skills being fundamentally changed via the runes, I just don't like that the game is 100% linear in terms of character progression. No distributing stats of any kind, just picking skills and getting magic items.
It's baby's first action-RPG, and while it's not bad per se, there's better games out there (Torchlight 2 and Titan Quest say hello)

im pretty sure this is going to exacerbate the problem of too many similar character builds in online play rather than solve it

Well, at least you can instantly change your build if you notice that someone else in the party is using the same skills as you are.

It's not BAD bad, just... disappointing bad. The combat is satisfying and it's very pretty, it just lacks customization.

if it captures at least some of the "magic" of d2 i may even buy it but idk the complete lack of customization sounds like a huge buzz kill. it's like removing half of what makes the game fun. I'm pretty sure that no lead artists/programmers/designers are left there that worked on DI or DII. And it shows.
but aren't the original diablo guys (at least some of them) making torchlight now which looks even more like warcraft than d2 does?

it might as well not be a diablo game, it's really disappointing and bad, and if you pay any amount of money for this, you are a chump
