Demon Hunter has turned into a grind on the second act of Nightmare.
None of the skill runes I'm unlocking are useful, I've settled on my play-style. Really seeing the value of just pumping points into your favourite skills now. When you levelled up you would always get to add a bit more customisation. Now I level up in D3 and I get 3 skill runes for a bunch of redundant skills.
I'll go a few levels without getting a rune I want, then get like 3 all at once that are lovely. Also, just because you've settled on something doesn't mean other people don't use other things. I use Cleave + Rupture almost exclusively outside of boss fights, but I've seen Barbarians use all sorts of combos as their primary. Try something outside your comfort zone sometime.

Rupture isn't bleed.
It makes enemies you kill with Cleave explode for 30% weapon damage.

I have. They're all shit. I try a different combination and I'm like, "hmm, yeah, this is shit, might as well change back. Oh, that's better." I think my main issue is that now that I've completed the game, I really can't face doing it again. Especially not Act fucking 2. And not the other characters because I've tried them and I don't like them. It's been a good game. But I'm just not addicted to it.

This game is too easy and too hard, too long to play through again, too short to be fun, too similar to D2, too different from D2, etc.
It's fine to hate the game but just admit it's a matter of taste rather than any objective flaw in the game. The game has objective flaws, obviously, but it still succeeds at the core gameplay, even if it's admittedly a very dire cycle of "click monster get item".

Actually I can understand hating D3 if you intended solely to play alone without friends or planning on getting to the 'endgame'. In which case, again, sorry you bought a game you didn't like.

though imo their decision to remove fighting over drops kinda puts a damper on multiplayer because that was one of the main things that made co-op fun for me. the game is good and i dont regret buying it but there are some frustrating things about it

That's a really weird thing because I always hated the whole "NO YOU GOT THE LAST SWORD I GET THIS ONE" with my dumb friends when playing Diablo decades ago.
The game really does benefit from having VOIP active, since my general mode of play is to bullshit with friends while clicking, occasionally going "oh I found a wizard hat is this good for you", etc.

truly it makes the game much worst to have 8 rare items drop for 4 players than only 1
