Frenzy - DW. Increases the attack speed so that DW can equal 2h in damage output. but the thing is, 2h always has lower damage output than dw for me, at least according to the bottom part of the stat window that tells you how much dmg, life, protection etc you get. Two things I wanna see in Diablo 3:
1.) Player ability to create weapon sets and switch between them. Only the active set gives a bonus. 2.) Player ability to create skill sets and switch between them. Only usable if all skills are cooled down.
Both could be a channeled, damage-interrupted ability like town portal. That way people can set up builds they like and toggle them instead of the current system. yup. d2 already had weapon switching so it's kinda weird that they removed it from d3. blizz has been pumping out patches like crazy tho so i think (hope) it's within the realm of possibility.

Today I found out that the auction house doesn't include items with Reduced Level Requirement unless you specifically search for that attribute. There are numerous weapons with 900+ DPS even for level 50 characters that I just never noticed because they were hidden by the system.

I really wish the auction house gave 5 search parameters instead of 3.

I started playing the first Penny Arcade episode this weekend, but then switched over to Diablo 3. I finished off the first Act, and made considerable headway into the second Act. Once the crafting options opened up for me, it really helped to get me into the game. Collecting items became more relevant when I could dismantle all my blue magic items for crafting materials. Now I'm rocking a largely custom-made suit of crafted armor and weapons with slotted custom-upgraded gems. My mage went from being a back-seat pansy to a raging engine of destruction.
It also helped considerably once I figured out how to use my allies properly. Having the templar AI character tank for me is a big help.

Funnily, all the gold you invest in the blacksmith is much better invested into goin to buy stuff at the Auction House. Much cheaper usually, and you know what the hell you are getting. You are better off selling all those blues.
The blacksmith partially shines when you can finally craft rares (tho by that time you usually have rendered all the bs shit obsolete. Useful if you have at least one alt (but then, its sually better to have the stash with stuff you no longer need and inherit them to your alt).
I should note however, that Gem crafting up to like the 5th, 6th tier, is considerably cheap and better as a whole (specially pumping Weapon's dps by socketing it with flawless square rubies). Bt then again, for the time being, it is usually chepaer to buy them at the AH too.
I should also wanr you that Act 3 seems to be the hardest for wizards, since they are usually glass cannons. Try t premetively have an alt gear for pumping vitality there.

But it's more fun to craft. Also, getting best gear from AH makes Normal and Nightmare even easier than they already are. I play most of my alts with no-AH rule, it's actually fun to collect and craft gear again.

Here's something even more fun: Every time you gain a level, you must select all skills and runes that you gained on that level and you may never select any skills or runes except for when you gain a level. Maybe you'll even try a skill/rune that you never would have considered using otherwise and find that it's better than you expected.

I might play around with the Auction House eventually. But for the time being I'm having plenty of fun farming materials and crafting. I've always loved crafting systems in games, so I'm getting a bit of a kick out of distilling extra magic items, and reconstructing them as useful items. It's all just virtual gold, as well, and can be farmed. So I don't mind throwing a bit of it into upgrading my crafting. protip: play co-op it's more fun I actually started off playing co-op with my brother. But scheduling conflicts prevent me from playing with him regularly, so a little solo play now and then is fine with me. He's rocking a Warrior as his primary, so I'll probably recruit him to help me through Act 3. I've found some pretty good spell combinations for dealing with large groups, but my mage's health still falls pretty quickly.

Yeah, I have plenty of alts to play with if you want to try some co-op with someone not as stranger.

I waded into Act III solo last night, and actually didn't have much trouble. I had equipped the ground shock lightning attack with explosion rune for my primary, and the destruction orb with extra power rune for my secondary. Diamond Skin for 1, Twister for 2, Ice Shield for 3, and I barely ever use 4 to begin with. It's true that Act III involves huge numbers of melee-focused enemies, but my skill combo, combined with my properly equipped Templar companion, made it possible for me to wade right in.
The shock pulse attack combined with the explosion rune has crap range, but is fantastic for clearing large groups of low to mid level melee enemies. The explosion orb gives you a bit of range, and is also good for clearing tightly-packed groups. The Templar companion helps to draw aggro while also providing a bit of healing when things get hairy. No real problems so far.
