Anyone enjoying their dumb-ass decision to require online (even if you just want to single player) at all times yet? Ever wish you could just play the damn game? Yeeeaaahhhh... Oh, the good ol' times where you could actually play the game you just bought! Indirect DRM for the win. ..That's a lot of guinea pigs.

I got in after like an hour delay, I played some SSF4 and drank juice and tried every now and then After getting through the login it was absolutely lag-free.

I'm in central Europe and get about 75.
Preventing cheaters by handling everything relevant to that server-side is actually a decent idea but there's literally no reason why they couldn't have separate offline and bnet characters like d2 has. As a laptop user who often takes his computer to places with no stable internet connection thats kinda a big deal to me.
Their official statement (can't find the interview anywhere atm) is that they don't want to make people who start out offline and then decide to go online start a new character, which is kinda.. uhm... well...
ANYWAYS
The game itself is decent but I still think the character progression system sucks. Why even have leveling when you're not going to give the player any control over it? What made leveling "addictive" in previous Diablo games was the combination of grind + minor strategic decisions. Now that they took out the character "building" all there is to it is watching your experience bar go up. I understand their decision to remove the whole point distribution system, but then why not tie unlocking skills to quests and throw out experience points and levelups altogether?

WOW guys you can actually fill your skillslots with ANYTHING, it is not limited by categories. Go to options -> gameplay and basically disable the noobmode there.
AMAZING

Yeah. Elective Mode.
I get the impression you didn't play the previous Diablo games much.

Diablo 2 was always 3 skilltrees and you bind skills to number keys if I'm not mistaken? Not sure what I am missing. And yes, I basically got bored before finishing Act 2 anytime I played D2 but loved Titan Quest and similar games.

Act 2 was the best bit really. Just the shock of playing a completely different area with cool new music as well: http://grooveshark.com/s/Desert/TZJT?src=5Fuck knows what was up with the level generator for the jungle. Getting around was really tedious. I'll be getting into the new stuff this evening if the internet works. Le battletag: Crowley#2294

Level 6 Monk right now...
Missed the beta so playing it for the first time, it's a lot simpler than Diablo 2... spent a lot of time searching for the skill tree and the menu to distribute my attribute points after my first level up.
Oh well, still a very fun and engaging game. Story is good till now and it's nice how it adapts to the character you're playing.

Interesting, very interesting indeed... Well, I was just telling my first impressions, jumped into the game without much knowledge of what had changed.

My post
Nah mate, we noticed that, but it still means that once someone finds a decent build - everyone will clone it there and then. It'll be like that 3rd Matrix movie. Some people like games with consequences that can't be undone. It makes fucking up something you learn to live with. Bit like life really. You're not going to get anywhere by trying to convince people otherwise. It's a matter of taste. You like it this way, good for you. Not your problem is it?
