(The game revolves around the AH and obtaining real world money, not letting you make good items and having fun)
This post is in parentheticals so that if negative comments bother you, you can pretend it doesn't exist
The whole game is about the RMAH, which is why it's not gonna be launched until halfway through June. What?
(also you couldn't make good items in Diablo 2 except with ages of grinding to get runewords so...)
It was obviously there, they made a preview video of the game that forum post is asking for? They made a video saying "here, this is what the game will be", and the guy is complaining because that wasn't the game they gave?
I mean yea there is a lot of entitlement posts (I am guilty of it, but that's the past) but the forum post was pretty reasonable in asking why we don't have what the preview showed.
The preview showed... well, pretty much what was in the final game. I don't really see anything in there NOT in Diablo 3, except the Enchanter (which was rolled into the Blacksmith). "Random quests and events" are certainly in the game. Weapon elemental properties are in the game. Cool fights are in the game (including the fight shown in the video; it was moved to Act 3).
Diablo 3 has problems. Crafting is useless, gem synthesis is an exercise in frustration, no offline/LAN play, no PvP. But saying that it's purely a vehicle for an auction house that hasn't even been released yet is not only absurd, it's downright disingenuous.
I suppose when something doesn't go exactly the way you want it to, you can always make yourself feel better by characterizing the developers as jackbooted moneygrubbing thugs instead of as artists and developers passionate about their job.
like turning on a bunch of difficulty increasing options at once
If Diablo 3 had a system like the Skulls from Halo 3 and onward I would be pretty much ecstatic.
