Gargantia is okay. Just okay. Nothing surprising ever really happens, but it doesn't have that everything-falls-fantastically-into-place thing going either. There's nothing particularly interesting about the characters, and the themes it's playing with aren't exactly challenging. The setting is interesting though, and the art style is nice, and it's not offensive at all (unless you find the near-naked teenage girls dancing thing as offensive, I guess). It's not bad, but it's not really that good either. I was expecting a great deal more.

Ah yeah, thanks for reminding me to watch Rebuild 3.0. The previous one really made an impression on me, thought it was an interesting alternative retelling of the series' events. The more confusing Eva gets the better.

Rebuild 3.0 is kinda shitty.
they were doing more char development etc in 1.0 and 2.0, and then in 3.0 they're like "FUCK IT!" and they threw everything in the trash and started making a new series about space pirates

Yeah, I don't really care about them messing with the canon, but the plot was a mess. The only good things about it were the spectacle and Kaworu.
I was hoping that they would give Mari some character development to justify her addition, but it seems like she's just there for fanservice.

I find it hilarious that any given person can watch
and will be equally as clueless as someone who has watched the entire original series, both prior movies, and done extensive research on the entire franchise.
