Eren's titan mode does tip the power balance slightly - it's clear that he is far less skilled than the other titan agents at controlling it, and has no incredible special abilities (combat wise, at least). Heck, he is vulnerable to more than a few titans at a time.

wait till the show gets to the part in the manga where eren gets the power to mind control other titans

I actually did read up to that part, though I didn't want to mention/spoil it. But I still don't consider it incredible compared to powers such as becoming nigh invincible or creating titans. The humans are still really outclassed in my opinion.

Watched Boobs & Blood episode 1

Kinda good , the heroine is a bit annoying ,never talking
The animation is a bit disappointing , i was expecting great fight animated scenes and it was OK , sometimes poor and it was the fucking first episode !
Anyway i'll see the others , i'm kinda worried

Of the new season I've watched Blade & Soul and Captain Earth. Both look like shit.
Captain Earth left me wondering: 'Didn't I just finish watching this show?' The one Japanese-male-teenager fights alien invaders in a mecha while ground control yells nonsensical technobabble in poor English is something I'm getting rather tired of.

how to judge manga anime:

watch first 3 episodes
- first one is all spectacle with basic concept exposition
- second establish the world more
- third use the loop they will be using up to the middle of the "season"
Most loop are filler with character exposition and subtle hint that set the stake
Then jump to the middle when things are supposed to heat up, generally that's when the true stake starts and loop break down and it get all twisty ...

Except if it's a slice of life, slice of life have no need for structure

I really like this anime (Mushishi S2) - wonderful spirit ridden stories mixed with Chinese medicine and alchemy. To me it really brings back "the other" into the world of anime. A world that too often features mere stereotyped caricatures of ghosts and spirits.

Don't hate on Natsume Yuujinchou though, stereotypes or not its really well handled.

This is true, I really like the show, but AFAIR classical Yokai are scarce in the series. I think this might be a reason why it works really well. I don't think this stereotyping is bad, it's just what Yokai have evolved into since their "domestication". They are often more mascots than eerie intangible creatures. IMO "Nurarihyon no Mago" shows this very good. I recommend the book Pandemonium and Parade: Japanese Monsters and the Culture of Yokai - it's really great (albeit its academic nature)! I think there is a very interesting analogy between video games and Yokai or mythical creatures in general. As a child you can believe in them, you can fully immerge in a world of mystery. When you grow up you begin to loose this world formerly fully augmented by your "childish" imagination. Monsters in the dark irretrievably transform to shadows of trees and bushes. What is left to us is nostalgia. I think the same nostalgia often fuels indie game development. It's a longing which can never be really fulfilled. I never felt this longing better described than in the above mentioned book about Yokai.
