Speaking of Gainax, the remake of Evangelion has some AMAZING animation. Sure, it makes use of somewhat obvious 3d, but it's really well done.

Those are from the remake movies, right? Because the opposite is true for the TV series, with their using stuff like 30-second-long still frames because they ran out of budget.

Watched both the Evangelion Rebuild movies on blu-ray, it looks beautiful.

I thought I'd not like the movies, or any of the changes they made, but I quite like it so far.

EVA probably has my favourite mecha in it, they're just so awesome.
