Ya'know, I never really enjoyed the first anime series.  Probably because the second series is what I'm familiar with and reflects my sense of humor.  The first series seemed much darker to me and far more serious.  Heck, I should make it a point to go back and re-watch the first without expecting it to be more of what I enjoyed about the second.

I thought Castle of Cagliostro was awesome, haven't seen any of the other feature length Lupin films, though.

I love many anime!

Especially: Host Club, Sailor Moon, Berserk, Hal's moving Castle, Toradora, and so much more...

Did you guys know that Nausicaa was the main inspiration behind the lesser-known but fantastic (my favorite) cult-hit on the NES, Crystalis?

Ugh I love Japanese food- though I've never tasted some, I just like the IDEA of it. Sukiyaki and ramen (I've only had instant but that doesn't count) especially.

This is one of the few animes I've watched. It was great, and has a really distinctive style to it. One thing I really remember is that hey draw cars like no other anime or cartoon I have seen.

The ending was disappointing, though. Pity.

You aren't really missing much. I personally find the Japanese cuisine a tad bit overrated; I think people like it more for its trendiness and presentation/concept rather than the flavor, which is probably the most important aspect of food for me. I'd rather eat something rich, filling, and varied. Japanese food is bland and often seems to homogenous for me. It's kind of irritating how much people praise it when there are vastly superior cuisines out there.

It's just different. But overrated, yeah. Probably because it's different.

I love tonkatsu though
