Mononoke on the list of things I plan to watch, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. The visual style really is quite interesting.

Hmm, pretty interesting. Some good usage of CG; very subtle. Shame the youtube version is low res/missing episodes.

Why do people read manga on Mangafox and watch anime on Youtube? I don't understand. High quality downloads are easy to find.

I just finished watching the first seven episodes of Paranoia Agent. It's so good, and probably the first show i've watched that manages to freak me right the fuck out with barely any gore (so far). And i really like that.

This show also has my new favorite intro. It's so creepy:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-anabfAg06U

Paranoia Agent's also one of those that I plan on watching but haven't gotten around to yet - it was that opening that got me interested in it. Satoshi Kon and Susumu Hirasawa are a great combination.

Paranoia Agent was amazing, such a weird combination of humour and suspense.

The opening is strangely good at sticking in your head.

I found Paranoia Agent lagged a bit, and that while each episode had compelling characters, a long string of episodes are simply the same concept over and over just with slightly different settings

its a good little trip through the psyche, though, and the last episode worth watching all the others for ;p

I prefer the first episodes over the later ones, specially since the ending is close to being a Gainax Ending.

I loved Paranoia Agent. Not my favorite Satoshi Kon piece, but it's definitely pretty darn great.

Going back to Legend of Korra, I hope some people appreciate this:

hey everyone my name is Castle and I'm here today to talk to you about a manga by the name of Akumetsu

Akumetsu is japan-language-speak for "evil punisher" or something!

Maybe this picture will help?

It is the basic premise of the japanamanga. It takes place in modern Japan, ripe with corruption and a stagnant government. One dude, we'll call him Akumetsu, is a pretty cheery guy normally, but goes around murdering politicians in extremely showy ways before killing himself!

See?

This manga is written by TWO PEOPLE. An artist and a writer. This makes it REALLY FUCKING GOOD. I am of the belief that the artist+writer system works extremely well and it can lead to things that are way better than what someone might be able to do on their own.

The artstyle is at the same time really dark and heavy with inky bits but also really unnaturally light at times. The tone of Akumetsu is dark comedy with a very real message about how shitty modern governments are.

It's also really morbid. Like I said: the main character kills himself after he kills bad politicians.

See?

"Wait, Castle, how does someone kill themself more than once, ever?"

I dunno, you dummy. It's a manga. Why don't you read it and find out?

(after this series the duo went on to work on a manga called wolf guy wolfen crest which kind of stinks because its about an angsty teen werewolf and has a lot of sex and rape and weird stuff and doesn't tell a very interesting story - all problems akumetsu doesn't have)

Hey I only like the "best" stuff, and if I wanted to read a good manga, or a good short series (Outlaw Star length, not One Piece length), what would be "the best".  It's safe to assume that most things are things I haven't seen.  Please be wise about your choice!!

I have a few manga that I would consider "the best" at a certain thing but I couldn't simply call one the definitive best, they've all been so kind to me.

I can recommend you two of the ones I think are really exceptional and unique, though. They'd both take anywhere from 3 days to a week or so to read depending on how much time you give em. I used to just read manga for hours a day for a lot longer than I'd care to admit. Anyway,

If you're interested in a manga that is a little bit more stylized, with incredibly interesting characters and immensely bizarre and sadistic things happening in it: Read this

If you're interested in a manga that has a more serious tone, written and drawn by an architect who makes the backgrounds of every panel perfectly, has some pretty decent action, and a plot that will seriously confuse the fuck out of you without a reread unless you're some kinda genius: Read This

oh fuck the sun is coming up... later tigbros  Tiger

bonus: It's 5 AM and I just think this is the funniest darn thing
