I watched Tekkonkinkreet today, and liked it a lot, especially the first half (the second half wasn't bad, but was pretty predictable). Also, it's quite pretty.

tekkonkinkreet is my favorite animu of all time

everything about is just so perfect, after it ended i just sat there staring at the credits thinking about it

i watched all the behind the scenes stuff too, it was pretty interesting seeing the way that studio 4c works and michael arias is such an odd guy, he always looks so tranquil and at peace

been reading Yokohama Shopping Trip and it's fucking great and reminds me a lot of Mitsuru Adachi's stuff

which goes without saying

means "god of masterpieces" of masterpieces

I fucking love mitsuru adachi, I remember Yokohama having an OVA which didnt really draw me in. But..., seeing as youve name dropped them together ill give you the benefit of the doubt.

I've not found myself that interested in things like Aria (which id consider closer to Yokohama), the thing I like the most about Adachis work is the way he writes characters. I've no idea how best to describe them, they just seem to have a different way of talking that flows really nicely. That and the way he weaves in drama/tragedy and its effect on people.

the only adachi pieces i've read are Adventure boys and Cross game, which i enjoyed greatly because of how he had the storytelling done. not only the characters were developed greatly but the pacing of the manga itself was extremely well done. those are the two characteristics i see in yokohama, too.

but both have extremely great scenery porn shots in about every page, haha
