I guess she is a dreamcast Makes sense. The other one sounds just like an Xbox 360: "I will be eight this year."

i'm gonna save you some time and say the 3 best are kiki's delivery service, princess mononoke, and spirited away nausicaa is a waste of time and is inferior in every way to the manga

BEFORE: AFTER: motoko... what have they done to you... saito... aramaki... : ((((( getting rid of the unique GitS aesthetic and replacing it with generic (and really small faced) anime

I don't usually like this sort of anime, but this one has a certain je ne sais quoi about it that I find humorous.

Start with the Nausicaä comic then (it's amazing) And then hope he tops it at some point (he doesn't)

Best: Totoro and Kiki are locks, toss up for the third entry ... maybe Mononoke? Worst are Howl and Nausicaa. I like Ponyo a whole bunch - lotta people act like it's only a notch above Howl, I think they're unhappy people and deserve our sympathy and encouragement. Don't quite get the love for Spirited Away. I liked it a lot but it's commonplace for it to be people's absolute favourite - don't understand that.
Nausicaa movie was hard to watch after reading the comic - and I thought the comic was just ok.

ponyo was anticlimactic
howl was anticlimactic
totoro was really good but not in my top 3
WHY MY TOP 3 ARE WHAT THEY ARE
1. spirited away had such amazing visual design and really memorable characters. no-face left a huge impression on my 10 year old self. the world of the bathhouse was wonderful and weird and very, very surreal. 2. kiki's delivery service is such a cute little film. the characters are genuine and likeable and not in a saccharine way. 3. watching ashitaka literally rip off heads with the force of his arrows (in mononoke) was amazing. also stuff about environmentalism being portrayed in an even-handed tone yadda yadasdj

Miyazaki is slice of life, there is no climax to find, it's animation porn most of the time, the more the guy grew old the plot was abstract and an excuse to move stuff on screen.
