(back to the Miyazaki convo).

Miyazaki rules.

All of his movies are good. Some, anti-climactic. I don't know Nausicaa the manga. I have trouble with manga. But anime I am fine with.

Chihiro isn't a strong heroine, to whoever said he didn't like her. She's a strong character but not a strong person, unlike other Miyazaki heroines. That's sort of the point. She's like us, then does basic things with effort and humility, and becomes kind of cool in the end.

Whisper of the Heart is Studio Ghibli, not Miyazaki, to whoever else.

Watched Time of Eve. Okay. The LUH was funny.

Showed Haruhi to my 15 year old step sister. She got it. Cool. We just need some more practice. Wish me luck.

still the only series i rewatch every so often. fun fact: the second season was originally canned due to the first season's poor ratings in japan, but american fans liked it enough that cartoon network negotiated and co-produced the final season -- and that's why the show got that bizarre ending that i love so much.

if you haven't seen the big o, you should -- it's more or less batman, but crossed with isaac asimov and giant robots
