One of the play testers mentioned that the starting side has an advantage in the game. Well, me and Pandara_RA got the idea to make a one time battle between two archers to settle who makes the first step. Kind of like in basket ball.

Hmm, I thought of making another todo list, but I didn't do much with the previous one, heh. I will have to just pick something to work on, because I am a bit overwhelmed by figuring out how much more work I have.

Working on the sprites of Gilgamesh.
I didn't do character spriting for quite some time, so I might have lost my edge a bit. :/

Thanks,

Gilgamesh's bow is one of the most powerful weapons in Mesopotamia.

I am still in need of playtesters... I want to build a community or wahtever, the game is already playable and fun and challanging eventhough it's not complete yet. So I think people could be excited about playing it.
Of course here there are mostly developers, and developers are busy with their own games, so do you have suggestion as to how to "build a community"? Or just find a bunch of people who would like to play SB?

I have several options, I can post in IndieDB, I can send press release... hmm, maybe tweet about it. That's about it, heh...
I think I need to reach for gamers, and not necesseraly developers.
Another option I thought about is to work torward a free version which will be called "Sumerian Blood: Mini". Which will basically be a set of challanges with smaller boards and only a handful of the units. For instance, 3 archers vs 3 soliders and etc.
It will be released for the Android, so if it will be succesful there, I would have people to attract to the full game.

What do you think?

Make those "footprints" on chess map view transparent or sth, and teal? Seriously? Worst color ever, especially for things like this.

Very cruel, but sadly true. Think about different color + add some alpha to the footprints.

Yup. And TIGSource isn't really great place to catch gamers  Tired

Though, I don't know what could you do. Run an adsense ad?  Evil

The thing is that very big part of indie gamers are also indie developers (doesn't matter if just wannabes or successful ones)

I don't want to make it transparent, because I decided that I am limiting myself to non translucent visuals. About the teal, I dunno, I can try other things as well.
And those are suppose to be sandals, not very clear from the low quality video, heh.

The first unit of An's army, Bird man!
I tried hard to find a picture on the internet of my reference from the book but I couldn't. I don't feel it's ok to photo my book though...

By the way, there is an official IRC channel for the game. It's #gamers at afternet.
Make sure you read the rules of the channel(link at the topic).

Videos are getting more and more interesting, is there a way to play with u/someone without using that IRC channel? I'm not a big fan of IRC.

This is my version of Bes, some sort of Sumerian Dwarf Demon.
I didn't animate BirdMan yet, I just felt like doing him.

ANTy, I didn't find yet the bug we had in our match, I will need to test it with my other tester. I assume it's DX related, since I usually use SFML so I don't test much with DX. We will see.

I still wonder why SFML version didn't work.
