i don't really like the 'the real challenge is to get a high score!' idea, personally. i think a game should be challenging to progress through, not just challenging to meet some optional achievement or meta-game goal

yeah, the highscore are not really interesting enough to get me going. complete the puzzle and finish the level is all i wan, highscore just stay there and serve nothing.

The classic idea of leaving it up to the players to challenge them selves because the game designers didn't do it.
