yes im here and was writing this early review...

i got through act1 in the campaign and played bit of versus.
it has one of the best shooter campaigns ever. too early call? idc

campaign act1 comments:

+the best looking 360 game (there's a throwback to something in the beginning of the game if you need any help comparing)
it has enough "color" to please a french hippie like gilbert without shitting on the original's gritty art direction
its also less blurry than what was in the gears 3 beta
also the textures actually load now.

+bigger, better combat areas in the campaign level design... and the levels support the fiction and are not giant fantasy worms.. hopefully i won't be in another cave level

+way cooler narrative direction. chance to play in different perspectives.. i like the baird and sam(new australian? girl) banter. the cole train section in act 1 has its moments (its more sucesful than gears 2 in trying to stir emotion, that is if you don't mind dropping the snobby-lol-bro-shooter-act for a moment). also......... "you ruined my tomatoes asshole!"

-the new lambent enemies are way too easy to kill and im playing on hard difficulty. i'm guessing it was just an act1 thing

-battle callout dialogue in the campaign are way too long to be helpful. use fragments plz dum novelist

versus comments, 3 team deathmatch matches so far so any serius balance talk could just be dumtalk:

when i heard gridlock was going to be in gears 3 mp again i was mad cos its a shitty map and it was in both games before it already but the new makeover looks and feels amazing to play...

the changes since the beta to the "thrashball" multiplayer map makes the map way less shitty

blablabla dedicated servers blablabla they are cool blablabla tho i did end up in one p2p hosted match and it lagged like shit so they need some more of em servers also matchmaking playlist for each game mode is dum please copy halo thanks

sawed off because of it's guaranteed gib makes the gnasher kind of pointless. you can still get a kill with the gnasher against a sawed off user but it means trading deaths 100% of the time. many are complaining, epic claims that the "stats say otherwise"... ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhrgr... ill get used to it i guess





in dumclusion... get this gam... even if you dont care for versus mp. its the best coop game series objectively in every way.. if you havent played it yet... and this the best one in the trilogy

casual adds auto-aim now, play on hardcore if you know how to play even a little. (insane is locked and normal is too easy)
i'm playing it solo for my first run and its great solo too. the ai partners revive me more than before... well bit too much that i abuse it

I played about an hour of the first Gears of War recently, but the combat felt pretty unsatisfying. The guns seemed weak and they were all imprecise, lots of random variance so it seemed it didn't matter where you aimed. Did Gears 2/3 make it better in that regard/>?
