i was just talking to one of the developers behind the 2.5d puzzle platformer oio and pointed out that in my opinion the actual launch trailer doesn't look as appealing as the 1st and 2nd trailer.
mainly because the 1st and 2nd show more interesting physics and gameplay bits.
(also the graphics are brighter in them).

now this is just my opinion and it would be great to hear other opinions from you guys as well...
which trailer looks best to you?

note:
the production value of the launch trailer is better of course but that isn't my point here.

I think the 3th trailer is the most interesting in it's format.
But what i don't like about the 3th trailer is that you cut a lot of screen action
into parts. This makes it jumpy and not smooth to watch.

I have the feeling that you made the 3th as last, but that it still didn't feel right, so you asked us. I don't think it needs an opinion yet, it needs some work.

I think taking a next step and take everything you have learned from the previous 3 will result in a better version, maybe it needs a step after that to totally make it awwesome, and maybe another, etc. Good luck!

I like 3, then 1 then 2 in order.. If I get time I'll try to think why. I certainly think opening with OIO and then the robot face is the best way to begin.

I like the first trailer (a lot of action, physics, good gameplay). Excellent work!!! I am working on a 2.5D platform also. You have very good ideas for you game. Congratulations!

I liked the first trailer the most, due to the music, variety of levels shown, and as dreamssoft said, action, physics, and gameplay.

make the first trailer with the launch trailer's higher production values and you got a winner imo.

only one I didn't like was the second one. 1st and launch are pretty good.

Launch trailer was my favorite, because it was the only one that gave any real context to what you were doing.  It was fun watching the guy run around, but it wasn't until the launch trailer that I started figuring out what the game was about, and what was different from a standard platformer.

Looks really cool btw.  I love your art style with all the weird tubes with the zebra stripes.  (I really like the room with the lake water and the tubes in the background.)

Awesome work!

IMO 3rd is the best, mainly because of the music choice and because of that the gameplay is showed more dynamically.

Hmm, in my opinion the 3rd one is the best in terms of the movie\video perspective.
And I also have seen the 3rd one a while ago. But from the 3rd one I have no idea how the game plays because all the gameplay bits are so short and fast. The first two make it more clear how the gameplay will be.
Probably the 3rd one will attract more people. I guess you don't want to necessarely be informative in this kind of video.

guys, thanks for the votes/feedback Smiley

note that i wasn't involved in the production of the game... i've only talked to one of the devs and just thought it would be useful to get some feedback for the trailer.

however... there's already a chaotic single screen arcade platformer planned by a fellow dev and myself. (as you might know i was somewhat involved in the creation of neonplat 2 and this project does share some similarties to neonplat 2).
currently it's on hold but there might be a prototype of it next year.
