Update: Misc work this week on the high-level world system. Places like Stone Cove now spawn just a finite number of special creatures, like the Stone Slug, to prevent a player from farming lots of resources by re-entering the area. New things include: a system of tough wyrmroots that surround the hive entrance, extra particle effects in the fluid system, the first steps to a procedural sky, and an updated renderer (see last devlog). Haven't checked in with the M man for a long time, and its looking fantastic. I really like the water 'splash' effect when hitting the ground, one of those little touches that lift everything up a level.

Looks great. I didn't really notice the actual water the first time, tho. Only the particles. Perhaps make the water brighter to make it more clear that it's there and falling down?

Yeah it could be bright I think. Usually the player will be right there, mining the ground when these events occur, so its more obvious.
