I love the mockup with the wyvern thing and the laser gun. This game is looking great.

Same. It looks pretty bad ass. I really dig the sort of... steam(?) coming off the laser.

It looks kind of like it's a focused acid-beam weapon with a small radius of splash damage. If it's not... make one!

I like the red screenshot. Reminds me of Total Recall. Expect to see Arnold suffocating while moonman just stands there with his crazy smile watching

I love the smile. I'm thinking about it.
It's kinda funny that back in the day rudimentary pixel art was not a choice of style but was necessary due to limitations presented by the hardware of the time. If they could have made a perfect human face they would have. But now that we have the capability to at least get close to reality some of us step back into those limitations because they're nostalgic to us or because we appreciate the simplification. Sort of in the same way that cartoons will always be made. There will always be different styles and not all of us care about being spot-on in our created representations of reality, so long as it entertains us. And even with a simplistic style you can effect people, I think of Calvin and Hobbes. So poignant and touching. Yet presented in an exhaggerated cartoon form. It's the motivation, not the presentation, that matters.
I done now.

Thx for all the comments guys! My idea for the wyvern/dragon will be that you fight it in a valley, but the dragon rains water down so the valley fills up with water while you fight it. Hmm acid beam, that sounds very cool, Ill make a note. Franklins Ghost, yess that's a good idea, I'll put him in. I really want to have quite a few cultural references (the subtler the better), so I'll put in a choking eye popping man who you can't save from suffocating. @pbs Totes McGotes, I agree. Also like impressionism, cubism, and graphic art, to those that came before them.

Like the idea of subtle cultural references. And with the dragon raining down water in the valley will you be able to dig into the valley to lower the water height or just have to defeat him quickly, before you drown?

There will (hopefully) be multiple ways to beat him - emptying the water may be one strategy to stay alive longer, or using jet boots to stay above the water, or to wear a diving suit, etc. I'm really looking forward to experimenting when I design the bosses.

Like this idea that there will be more then one way to defeat bosses. Never liked that I'd just have to figure out what the developer wanted me to do and do only that one thing. Giving choices allows a lot more freedom and creativity, so good luck with it.

Stands for nothing, but I'm happy to hear suggestions. Its just that the usual suspects .net,etc were taken, and my personal website bp.io is on the io TLD, so it's a bit easier to manage - having the same account through the nic.

Well there is a devlog link there ... But yeh, I'm just parking the domain really. I don't plan on getting a website up for another few months, once I've got some awesome screenshots.
