i think it's mostly the mods and the mod pets that want you banned mattg, and the reason is (nominally) that all of your posts are about your games and how great they are and how great of a programmer you are, and that you can't talk about anything else without talking about yourself, so that you feel like an intelligent spambot rather than someone interested in participating in the community -- i.e. that you only want to "get something" out of the community rather than "give back" to it, by helping others
i don't really agree with that because you aren't doing a very good job at advertising your own game (you don't link to it enough to be a spambot), i just think you have a narcissistic personality and can't really talk about anything without relating it to yourself, and there's no crime in that (it's just a personality quirk, not something we should ban someone over)
unfortunately usually people with that personality quirk tend to be banned or driven off here (offhand: phubans, jforce, adam coate, and banevery have that personality quirk as well, and most of those were banned or driven off). i think that's a bit intolerant, we should love all personality types, even people who only talk about themselves, because variety is good and interesting
