the fact that gamers dont want children surprises literally no one
Every time I read a post from someone who professes not to hate children, my eyes nearly roll out of my skull. Then I get back to work on my video game, which attempts to mimic my childhood in as many respects as possible.

Considering the average age here, I would say most would prefer immortality because kids are the worst.

I personally would stick with kids.

I chose kids. It's far more poetic.

memory capacity is probably far higher than we actually use; but even in normal lifespans we can't remember most of the stuff we did 10 years ago, only the important stuff. the same would be true if we lived 500 years.

Its not about what you remember, it is about what you accomplish. When I am real old, I might feel sad that I didn't keep personal record of my life. But then again, I probably just make something creative or play games like my whole life at this point anyway.

Immortality gets boring rather quickly.

I think I'd be more inclined to pick immortality if it also enabled you to somehow step outside the 'system' and just observe. You didn't need to work or anything like that, you could just travel around and experience people's stories and how those stories (along with culture, religion, technology etc) would change over the years. And then to see how life would compare 1000 years in the future to now, and what kind of lives and stories those people would have to tell, and what weird, new experiences there would be. That would be fascinating.

Saying that though, if instead you would just continue your everyday normal existence for ever and ever, then yeah that could get pretty boring. But I suppose life is what you make it, after all...
