Question: How has apple had negative affects?

Answer: Affluenza, exemplified society of spectacle, business practices, etc.

Defensive responses, failing to address critique:

1: But I or people I know like or have benefited from apple products.
2: Without apple there wouldn't be computers.
3: they innovate everything
4: Art is culturally good. I think Apple products are art. Therefore, Apple products are good.

Responses:

1: Non-point, when factoring those who have been negatively affected.
2: Debatable. Though most would say it's a given that they were influential, this does not justify all other cultural effects.
3: They choke out competition, which most would believe is anti-innovation in the longer term.
4: Hiding consumerism under the label of art. Also DaVinci never produced hazardous wastes, etc.

Smithy summed it up quite well, this thread is recursive as fuck and the only way to solve it was to lock it. And who the fuck are you telling me I can't lock a thread that was spawned from my own discussion? I don't see that anywhere in the rules, shove your own rules up your ass. I follow the forums' rules not yours.

It was spawned from the posts of several people, not just you. It was me who created (split) it though, ergo I get to decide what happens with it. This isn't "your" thread, it's a thread for people to discuss the ethics and morality of Steve Jobs and Apple, created because the subject came up in the "RIP" thread.
