I finished one level of my Unity project and thought I would show it here.

You can read more info, watch a video, and try it on my blog:

I actually had a lot of fun just kinda flying around, but I have a few minor issues with the current set up. I'll keep this brief as things are very conceptual right now =]

Issues I had:
1. The sound is crazy loud when things shoot
2. There is so much shooting it becomes obnoxious how the sound crashes against each other sound, just make it sound like static, loud static.
3. Unless you are flying close to the ground there is nothing interesting to fly past/through/around
4. The world kinda has this bad 90's game color scheme to it, would be cool if more stylized
5. Rockman space ship made me want to bump into him/her but then I just died so it was odd.

Cool stuff:
1. Flying around + environments are fun (when sticking towards the ground)
2. Oddly bumping into things and the purple dagger thingy shooting out of you to kill things was really fun to use, but the enemies are super small it would be super cool if you fought things by bumping into their weak points like some crazy swordfish stabbing spaceships.
3. My 3d mouse worked great with it and same with my Novint Falcon
4. The shapes in the world weren't too bleh
6. The enemy projectiles that home in where pretty cool
7. The enemies following you from behind was scary and loud. I had like 30 on my tail at one time.

Overall:
It's got a cool attacking mechanic, a really fun way of moving around, honestly should you add game mechanics like swordfish vs spacecrafts etc. or even just basic gameplay elements it'd be worth a play.

Oh and I played for like 2 hours and didn't find any bugs yet.

Thanks for the feedback.  You're the first person on any site to comment.

The only issue you posted that I disagree with is 2.  I like the way the sounds combine to provide atmosphere.  I had made a background track, but found it wasn't necessary.  The sounds effects themselves could be improved though.  A volume slider might help too.

I think I could improve on 3 by providing some sort of gas, dust particles, or junk that the player flies through at all altitudes.

4 is sort of subjective.  The simple polygons are intentional, but I could see using different types of shaders to spice things up.  I've made a few, but none have been that compelling to me yet.

I'm not sure what you mean by 5.  Do you mean the triangle-shaped enemies?

I've also made a teleport and a powerup that slows down time while the player moves at roughly the same speed, but did not include them here.
