dragonmaw, you can't even release tigcast revival episode 1 when given 3+ months to edit it, and have never finished a game even tho you've started a lot of them? so i dunno if i'd trust you to run something that will beat the igf, haha
(not that i'm saying i'd be much better, just that your prior history of starting projects and then giving them up or never finishing them hasn't given me confidence)
@InfiniteStateMachine- the allen contest idea is in, of all places, #allen, the irc channel. although i think the ideas i expressed for a contest expressed earlier in this thread (which i had developed with edenb over a number of years) are more complete and thought-out than the allen contest ideas are. but the ideas share a lot of overlap in any case, i'd be happy with either one or a mix of both arising
also, with aquaria the main issues people had against it were basically fez-lite: that it's a slow game without much action (at least at the start) that focuses on exploration. i personally loved the game and bought it on day one, then again on steam and again in a humble indie bundle, but a lot of indies felt it was boring and put them to sleep (usually after only playing the intro, which *is* slow). people also had against it that it won the igf and was only released like 2 years after that, i think it was one of the first times such an unfinished game had won the igf (after that, it's pretty much generally been unfinished games that need years more of work before release that win, but that was new at the time)

Paul is using Reverse Psychology with you! Now it's the part where you say "finger my butthole" and work your hardest to have an event.

Ah Ty for explaining that paul.
I've been meaning to get back on IRC, my internet intermittently disconnects though so I would annoy the hell out of people with constant reconnect messages.

i'd love to see lots more competitions with more varied remits but I don't trust you monkeys to organise anything.
at least, to organise anything more complicated than "Retro Pixel Platformer: The Squeakquel"
(There, is that bitchy enough? Can I have my million dollars now plz?)

I've won awards!
I've never won a whole hospital ward though. Don't know what I'd do with it. Farm it for zombies?
