Not relevant to SF, but still somehow relevant: I prefer Tekken over Street Fighter as a series, but the music in Tekken is so, SO bad I can't believe it. Tekken has barely any memorable tune.
have you only played tekken 1 and 2 or something

almost every single track in tekken 5 is above and beyond anything capcom has done in decades. ttt2 has great music too.
hitoshi sakamoto is scoring the movie. only reason to watch that horrible mess.

this is now a tekken music thread.

the only program he uses is fruityloops which is a bit confusing because he is making this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7kw3mtVNy8 and i cant figure out how to make things that dont sound offensive

Actually, Tekken 3 has one freaking AWESOME soundtrack. But yeah, that's about it. 2 and 5 have a few memorable jingles in them too, but it's all about T3.

IIRC, Capcom fighters kind of have the edge of the MegaMan sound team for OSTs. And I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought X2 was the best of the series. But I'm still pretty impressed with X3 and X6, too. Ohhh, the things they did in X6...

And it's about effin' time they featured Karin in something!! She is the perfect character for fighter games. She has good tactical depth to her playstyle, isn't fireball-spam-happy, and has just enough of an obnoxious bitch personality that makes you WANT to punch her in her pretty face. Fighters need more of that.

I actually like the music in Tekken 2 in a "lol, that's so cheesy" way (especially the ending with Japanese lyrics). Tekken 3 had some nice tracks, like Xiaoyu's theme. I don't remember the music in Tekken 4 and I didn't play TT extensively. Tekken 5 was okay, but Tekken 6's soundtrack is really bad. I don't know, not my kind of music I guess.

I'm on the fence about SFxT. It looks pretty stellar, but at the same time, it looks like a lot of the system is geared towards autopilot combos which for the fans of one technical game or the other, is complete hogwash.

But then, I've yet to see a crossover title that completely disappoints, so it's possible that the trailers are all pro-level players illustrating fancy technique excerpts with the whiffs removed. It may actually be like "tag team SF4" without focus attacks.

What would be interesting to see is if the game features more than one boss combo. Akuma/Bison/Gill/Seth xx Devil/True Ogre/Jinpachi/Unknown would allow for a lot of nifty character combos, and it'd be an interesting twist to see a Mokujin-like that features SF fighting style.

its overloaded with gimmicks. it looks like street fighter 4 but orange. literally the one good idea they had (special cancelling chained normals) they went and fucked up anyway.  thats before you even get into the gems garbage. it looks worse and worse each time out. dimps should stick to making anime games.

I am not expecting it to be the greatest game ever but it will probably be pretty fun for a while (as was the case with Marvel vs. Capcom 3). I'm still looking forward to it.
