Alright, I got a very basic demo of the absolute beginning of what I'm doing here. I'm going to probably update this on Sundays. This is the first time I've really openly distributed anything, so I'm probably doing a few things incorrectly.

Right now, it's one c file, and 3 images, and not to complicated stuff. I doubt there's an IDE/platform that can't compile it as is.

I plan on working on this just during the weekends. So next Sunday/Monday I will have continued progress.

People in mass signing petitions to succeed from the state, and high end government officials(senators) holding meetings on what to do "if" the president is employing mass hypnosis on the people.

I was aware of the folks trying to succeed but I hadn't heard about the meetings regarding the president using hypnosis. Got a link to any articles on that?

Sometimes I think Terrence McKenna was right. The universe certainly seems to tend toward novelty.

Just Googling "Obama hypnosis" brings up a metric shitload of crazy, so that's probably your best bet. :p

Huh. Guess "senators" threw off the results on my initial search.

Best Search terms: Obama, Delphi, Agenda 21. I mean, it's one thing to have some guy sitting in his basement thinking this stuff but to have a state senator holding official meetings is mind boggling.

I'm not actually all that stern.

1) This is really, really obvious satire.
2) This game's premise is hilarious and brilliant.
3) Never pass up a good idea because some people will be too stupid to understand it. That's the kind of thinking that leads to watered-down AAA mush. We're indies--we're better than that.
4) As a corollary to 3, don't publish an artist's statement. Demand more of the audience; don't just pander to thoughtless reaction.

I am looking forward to seeing this game made. Smiley

P.S. It's "secede," guys.

Update:

* This project is still very much alive
* the basics in terms of scaling/collision detection for a fake 3d world are coded. This foundation will allow for a ton of escalation. The player can jump, walk under certain objects, and the landing works perfectly fine. There is basic functioning gravity, optional culling for objects above the player, etc.
* Objects will rotate around their middle axis depending on what direction they are facing. They can move in full 360 if need be.
* You can run-jump which will be a key element in the gameplay.

Next week, the plan is to create a small test stage. For that reason, I'm just going to wait for next week to upload some more code. This will showcase walking under things, jumping over things, climbing objects, and falling. There's a few bugs(as inevitable in a project this early), but all these aspects generally work.

This week: Added collision detection in all 3 directions, and set up the icons to rotate properly(using raw pixel manipulation/trigonometry).

Next Week: I'm going to have a small obstacle course demo to showcase this in a bit more of a clear way.
