I started writing some tutorials after endless questions on how to create things. I tried to go a 'non-artist' approach with the tutorials and explain vector art as 'building images rather than hand-drawing them'. Most of the tutorials will be based on inkscape and gimp.

(This is the first tutorial screen - starting with the basics.)

(This is a more recent and slightly more advanced one.)

I would love to get some feedback on the approach, style and topics of the tutorials - as well as suggestions what to cover (character creation, simple animations and effects will be covered). Thanks!

Great tutorials Smiley
I wanted to learn to use Inkscape in past as making vector art is quite easy and, as can be seen from the tutorials, also fast.
I'm looking forward to the next ones Wink

As a programmer, I like these tutorials a lot.  Very simple and they've opened my mind as to how easy it can be to create nice artwork.

@McGillis - The look and feel is not defined by using vectors. Set the colours to less saturated, lighter or darker colours or export them to bitmaps and manipulate them in gimp to create totally different styles.

@vdek - I am glad the tutorials are helpful as I am having a lot of fun doing them.

Oh man I used to be an Inkscape junkie.  Props for the tutorials, although I already have achieved wizard status.   Wizard
