Sexy. Very sexy.

LINK TO DEMO:
http://www.konjak.org/index.php?folder=4&file=30
(you'll want to click demo 2)

Right now, the game looks absolutely gorgeous. However, there are a few things that need work. The first is the wrench mechanic, specifically using the wrench as a sort of grappling hook to fling yourself upwards to other grappling points. Right now, it's extremely unforgiving; you have to be at a precise point in relation to the grappling point in order to be able to press A and actually grab it.

QUESTION:
I'm currently stuck at the point where you have to open doors with your wrench, and I can't figure out how to get up onto that ledge to open the next door... do I jump on the turtle thingy? I don't know...

Anyway, this is something you guys should keep your eye on...

Konjak had suspended work on this at one point but he has now returned to it again, and I believe he is re-coding the whole thing from scratch, with things like high-definition resolution support and stuff.  There's a new trailer out to accompany his submission to IGF 2012:

I really enjoyed the demo so I'm very happy he's working on the game again.

From what I remember, I didn't have any issue with the wrench, though it has been a while since I played the demo. Has it been updated recently? Maybe with an IGF build? But yeah, Konjak is god tier for sure, and I'm definitely looking forward to this.

Try climbing the door itself.

It was being done in Construct right? Is it still being done in it?

It took me a few times to do the "wrench swinging" as well. I tried it a few times to see if I was somehow timing it wrong, but I guess its just position based.

Yes. He has clarified on his twitter a couple of times that it is being developed in Construct.

i'd recommend waiting to play the game, this version is like a year old

"This version is already quite inferior to what I have now, like the current version is in HD resolution and has many fixes and additions even to older areas."

unless you just can't wait of course, but for me i'd rather wait a few months and play the game in full glory

There was an old version but the version I downloaded from the website seems to be newer, with more areas to explore.

when i played this a year ago, i didn't dig the flow much because of the wrenching. i'm hoping he's fixed that in the igf version.

i also just didn't like the desert level, particularly that big "puzzle" part.

So this is basically a remake of his abandoned game Ivory Springs? Looks fucking sweet. I guess I'll skip the "inferior" demo and wait for the real thing though.

I wish Konjak would go back to his 'chibi' style. Not to say the new style is bad, it's just...

With that said, looking forward to anything he does. Noitu Love 2 was a lot of fun, and so was Legend of Princess. I have a lot of faith that he knows what he's doing when making games.
