Whew! That's quite a title! As the name suggests I'm making a Batman game in three weeks before Arkham City releases on the PC. Grin And as the image suggests I'm using NES restrictions. It will use Game Maker. It's going to be a simple side scrolling beat 'em up game along with a grapple hook if I can code it. I'm gonna try and spend this next week making all the sprites, and then the week after to code the entire thing. This might seem like a stupid idea to you, but I'm just doing it for fun and I hope some people will like to play it.

Platform: PC

Todo List:
Title Screen
Batman Sprites
Thug Sprites
Joker Sprites
Gotham Tiles
Code
Music

Seeing that title screen immediately made the music from level 1 of the Batman NES game start playing in my head. Thanks a lot!

Fuuu- oh god, yes to the hard.
Original music, also or existing tracks? Just wondering, since Sunsoft's Batman games were rad with the music.

You missed some frames of animation, such as his cape that falls once he lands on the ground.

As seen here:

Yeah, but those are prosthetics I'm not sure I can code in game maker. I know nothing about coding. Tongue

Is it me or does this look a lot like the NES batman sprite?

Because they're slight edits of the NES sprites? Shrug

I answered your questions about grappling hooks here:

http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=3171.msg635084#msg635084

Note that doing ANY of the things you want REQUIRES usage of GML.

Luckily GML is basically made for retards, so it shouldn't be too hard for you to pick up.

EDIT: i'm not implying you're a retard Tongue

PS: from the sound of it, you're not too familiar with GM. in that case i'd recommend you check out matt thorson's grandma engine. its a good place to get started for any platformer. to find it, just use the forum's search function.
