Last December, I posted a request for a character and background artist for our fantasy platform RPG. Well, I received no serious replies, but I did manage to find a great musician in Jamie Billings, who has completed the entire score for the production already (she's an amazing musician and also very personable and friendly, I strongly recommend her to any serious game developer!). This project had to be put on hold for a few months, as a previous project had resumed. That project is now completed and in queue for manufacturing, so this project is back to work, and with it comes a need for more talent.
We are seeking an artist who can draw cartoon-like cutscenes utilizing basic animation. The work is very low-resolution (most scenes will only use a portion of the 256x224 pixel screen) and low-color, which can be a challenge. Many of the scenes required are moving-mouth-type scenes.
Here is a recent screenshot of the game engine's Village subprogram:
3x zoom to show pixel detail.
Also, here are some mockups of other areas in the works:
These use actual game art, but are not screenshots. The subprograms for these areas are not quite finished yet, though one of them will be finished up today (the Dark Castle).
Here is an old video posted to youtube (from April of this year), which has much of the original art I developed myself, as well as some of the music Ms. Billings has composed for the production:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGhL9ZsPXLI
A new video will be put up within the next few days, featuring all the newer artwork.
The production I headed previously, Mysterious Song Remake, can be found here:http://www.frozenutopia.com/
and videos featuring my work on that production can be found here:http://www.youtube.com/user/FrozenUtopia
The price for the artwork is negotiable. We prefer to work on a royalty/profit-share basis, but we are open to other arrangements. We require a contract signing, no exceptions.
You can contact me on this forum, on the Frozen Utopia form, on the Eponasoft blog, on either youtube channel I run (FrozenUtopia or Eponasoft), via email at david AT eponasoft DOT com, or via telephone or snail mail.
