Here is a very self-concious video of me talking about Gratuitous Tank Battles as I play through two different maps: http://positech.co.uk/cliffsblog/2011/11/11/gratuitous-space-battles-alpha-footage/I need to find a way to record video audio on one channel, and my voiceover on another because it's a nightmare otherwise. Anyone know a decent method for that, whilst recording both at the same time?

Can't you record your voice to some other (external) device and then sync up this audio recording afterwards?

hmmm possibly, that might be a bit hacky. I wish fraps could divert different inputs to different files...

i find the grid-basedness really disturbing. i guess it would be too much work to do the roads with cubic splines, but isit possible to add diagonal roads?

Record it without your voice, edit it then add your voice over!
Looks cool, but do the units degrade as they get damage, e.g. limping mechs!

I do this when I want to talk on a video. Mainly because I say 'erm' a lot, and lose my train of thought when talking and playing at the same time.

Their speed does not degrade much, because that just led to annoying traffic jams, but their rate of fire definitely degrades as that component takes damage.

I’ve been looking forward to GTB since its announcement. A few thoughts on the video:
When you do another of these, do take a bit of time at the beginning of the level to introduce the situation. Something like “This is an advanced map with long paths. The goal is to get at least X units to this side of the map to score X points. It’s going to be tough getting them through the choke point here. For my units, you can see from the toolbar that I’ve loaded up on some fast, weak mechs, heavy tanks, and different types of infantry” would only take a few seconds and give a much better idea of what’s going on.
To ease the viewer into the game, starting out on a beginning map and then cutting to an advanced one may be the way to go.
One problem is that we miss a lot of the battle to scroll over to place units; suddenly all the units are dead without us knowing how or why. I hope there will be some sort of queue system so that we can set up units and then concentrate on what’s happening.
The game looks great, especially for an alpha build. One concern: I can distinguish the tanks and mechs at a glance, but the infantry all looks similar on the map.
When GTB reaches beta, I hope that you’ll plan out a series of these on different aspects of the game. There should be one (at least) on unit creation, defending, attacking, and the challenge system. I’ve been sold on several games from LP’s, either by 3rd parties or the developer.

Would vote for Journey or Battle Block Theater but since I don't own a PS3 (or any other console) I've voted for GTB
