The game is titled
Saints Row the Third, at least get the name of the game you're praising right.
Saints Row is like GTA made fun.
And this sums it up so accurately. If one were to describe it in as few words as possible, "Like GTA but fun" would be them.
Personally I liked Saints Row 2 better... The main character in SR2 was a
psychopath. If anyone fucked with him he absolutely flipped out and made their life as miserable as possible, regardless of danger or consequences. This new guy... Ehh. He's a pussy compared to SR2's protagonist. Sure he still makes somewhat crazy maneuvers but he's mostly passive and never has an original idea; It's always your gang coming up with the plan and you're just giving the go-ahead (and on certain missions, reluctantly even).
I also can't help shake the feeling that SRtT is more like a remake of SR2. It has an almost identical plot. Take out rivaling gangs, ultimatum with high-tech corporation (previously Ultor, now Stag). Yes, SR2 desperately needed a
performant rehash unlike the terrible console port it was, but SRtT doesn't quite feel like the sequel I was kind of expecting.
A few bugs notwithstanding, it's still a damn good game, however.
