Which do you like better, top or bottom?

Well it looks like Twitter prefers the top one. I'll probably take the striping from the bottom one and apply it subtly to the top version, I like how it leads the eye.

I do prefer the striping and colours on the bottom one but like the way the colour reflects in the first one.

That was my thinking as well. The lighting in the top one makes it pop.

The heart itself will probably end up being the app icon.

I wish! This is what I have left to do:
-Finish creating 8 environments
-Implement character special abilities
-Implement enemy special abilities
-Music/SFX
-Optimize/Tune/Polish

Started a new environment, about halfway done:

I also just got a photo and quote in an article by Ben Kuchera in the Penny Arcade Report:
Get on the bus: Devolver Digitals innovative strategy for finding new talent at GDC

I'm the guy in purple looking nowhere near the camera.

I still can't get over your character models.

I still can't get over your character models.

Thanks! I've got a system that works well for me:
-Do lots of thumbnails
-Keep the silhouette simple (probably the most important)
-Don't add unnecessary detail within the silhouette, only add detail when you want to focus the viewers attention somewhere specific
-Keep to as few colors as necessary (preferabley 2-3)
-Size/placement/spacing of eyes can drastically change how a character feels to the viewer
-Use different colors for shadows/highlights when you can, try to avoid just using a darker/lighter version of the material color (purple shadows on the pink bunnies for example)

It's just doing the geometry that is frustrating for me.
Organic modeling is hard!

For instance, I tried to mimic your torso geometry from your archer, and I just can't seem to figure it all out.
