@Kramlack - Thanks for the recommendation - I'll have smaller images now.

Also, you should try 3D. Just think of how much you could do with a whole extra dimension! Ooohohohoooohhh!

@#Sharp - Hah, thanks.

Wish I could have gotten more out, but the tank's pretty much textured, animated, and up and running with a quick rigid body physics test. It works fine, but I might take it out since the tank will be a boss in-game (it won't be climbing over rocks or anything like that).

@SolarLune: I've done 3D before to make a wonderful BOX. I'd love to do more of it, but the programs are a bit over my head. One day though, I'll get back at it. I'll be the next Kenneth "Tennis" Fejer!

Also this image loaded instantly here, so thanks for using the smaller sized stuff. Also those treads are boss as hell.

You should use angles like that for some "dramatic" cutscenes, like those Zelda bosses intros. And then of course, go back to the "2D" view, helps build up the tension I think.

I'm wondering what the boss fight is going to be like, since your character is very agile, and the tank isn't and the tank top doesn't look like it can swivel it sounds like an easy boss fight, player running around behind the tank the whole time, unless you can somehow pin the player down long enough for the tank to have an opportunity, maybe with foot soldiers in the area.  Or maybe it's more of a puzzle boss?

the tank actually just bounces around the screen at a velocity 5 times that of the player and if it touches you, you take 1 damage - then if it bounces enough it explodes. can you imagin ethat?I  can, and it looks like pure golden gold!

Maybe a Tienanmen Square sort of deal, where you're restricted to a narrow bridge or road and the tank chases you while you're forced to shoot and run

(how this is related to Tienanmen square I have no idea, I guess it's just the fact that one man is insane or profound enough to think he stands a chance against a tank)

I thought that the park didn't really get enough 'play', so I'm planning on expanding it with kind of a dark forest area. I was thinking that it would play into the plot a little bit, where the alien robots are stealing resources from the land and dumping waste, thereby corrupting the forest and causing it to turn dark and poisonous. Kind of a stupid plot idea, but I think it looks nice, so I want to tie it in somehow (the green tree in the back doesn't really fit in, though). Forgive the poor weeping willows, as well - I've yet to find a good way to render them.

That would be nice- a foggy lagoon gives an eerie feeling.

Yeah, that seems like a good setup for a boss fight :D

aaaaaannnd:

With the above being said, for the weeping willows, say you have one layer of tree foliage, another behind it, and another behind it, rendering the branch and all of the foliage in 3D layers - instead of rendering the entire willow as one tree (I'm gonna risk a foot in my mouth to guess that that the entire tree being rendered at once is how you're doing it  Giggle but if I am wrong, go easy on me for it  Shrug)
