Ok. Il go though this putrid mess until highschool.

I REALLY dont see how, other than the paper part, there is any aspect to school that I couldnt accomplish at home. Ive heard people talk about socialization and what not... But they dont understand that if you can do it at home you dont have to waste your time in school. I mean seriously, hasnt anybody had something that they have to spend a chronological ass-ton learning, only to forget once the tests are done.

True, there are some things that I just forget after a test, even though I do not forget completely everything that comes with it, fortunately. But this is the thing: in school you create a work habit. You could do it at home, but it's much harder. But why do you'd work on something that you don't care about, you ask? Because you're in the 8th grade.

Don't take this as an insult, but imagine if the school asked to choose what subjects you cared at the 8th grade. Two things would happen:

-I don't know what you learn in the 8th grade in your country, but like I said it before you'll have less knowledge of things that are more or less general culture. Sure, you might never need to know who was that guy that was a dick and burned the Coliseum of Rome, but I think it's good to know.

-Adults regret sometimes their decisions, let alone 8th graders. So someone that said "fuck math" can't go back to it, at least without some consequences. For instance, I only found I liked chemistry at the 9th grade, so all these years were helpful to get a taste of what I would get in the future if I chose Science, which I did.

So if you don't like some of the subjects from your grade, tough luck. Do them, and at High School you may choose in which field you want to work in the future. Step up, and fight for your future.

No no no. Inever said that subjects should be completely ignored. The approach might be ass and the explanations in class might suck but Im not ssaying that there should be people who dont know a crap about a certain subject. When I was in the US a socker team of girls, discovering I as from Europe (Maybe they thought I was russian or french  Roll Eyes) asked me if I speak Ammerican. WTF do you mean if I speak ammerican!? I SPEAK ENGLISH!

Also, If I grow up to be an electo-engineer then why would I need to studyart(If I didnt want to). Also, this might seemod to you but only because you are here wich proves that you have SOME interest in knowledge, but the hystory studies dull many people out so much that they are beggning not to care about what is happening NOW. Theyve beenso fed up with what happened in the 17 century that they dont care what is happening now.

This is bad. I would be so glad if schools were teaching all about hatis happening now  and why and what we people should do etc(By now you might notice how Im  ranting on hystory a lot. I dislike being forced to learn about stuff I dont like). I care about that. NOBODY ELSE DOES!

While I agree with a lot of your points, you're complaining to an indie gaming site. You seem to be set on arguing how useless these classes are and as I mentioned, I agree, most of them are boring as hell, but that's life. I sat through history/etc, and I'm sure everyone else here did. If you're so stuck on having better classes, then put your money where your mouth is and take it up with the head of your school or do what you say you will and drop out. Either that, or do the normal thing and suck it up like everyone else. Personally, I'd love to see you drop out of public school, I think it'd be a great life lesson for you. You complain that you can't motivate yourself to work on games, so I'd be willing to bet you can't be motivated to do well in school either.

Stop wasting your own time, and stop wasting the schools time. Be a public school dropout at the end of the year and see where your life takes you after that.

The smart people will all give you the same answer. The right and logical thing to do is obviously to stay in school and bear it, but I swear, talking to you is like talking to a brick wall. A brick wall that talks back and complains about the most ridiculous things.

Quitting high-school and trying to make games? Have fun trying to teach yourself math.

Are you sure this is about learning and not some sort of social anxiety issue? I mean, high-school is super easy if you just want to skirt on by as a C student.

Also I've been realizing there has been nothing useless in any class I've ever taken. If not used directly in a project, used in conversation with people. You have no clue where that knowledge will pop up.

I think the next logical step is try to give some reasons to anty for why he should care about school.

1. Unless you go to some special academy, there are dames at school.   Noir

For this allegedly 'smart' site, a surprising amount of people have a hard time reading the part where antybaner says he's not even in high school.

I like the cut of your argument. Noir

Also quitting school before you're even in highschool is basically guaranteed failure.  Have fun trying to get employed if making games somehow doesn't work out.

History classes were awesome and interesting (when you didn't have to memorize dates, anyway.) But maybe that's just because I had awesome teachers. The worst is English class, there's like a 50% chance of you actually reading a great book and the rest of the time you're reading The Scarlet Letter or Their Eyes Were Watching God lol.

ANYWAY stay in school, don't do too many drugs, actually try hard (if you need to, anyway -- alternate option is procrastination, but that doesn't work out for everybody), etc. unless you want to grow up to be either a) a fast food drone or b) a corporate cubicle/janitor drone or c) dead on the streetz or d) working from a treehouse on your latest neo-8-bit existential grayscale platformer while taking baths in local rivers and using frog sweat in the place of soap, in which case it's a-ok.

if you quit school you might be forced to take jobs that you won't like.
Like being the janitor in your high school or acting in GAY PORN.
At least 50% of GAY PORN actors are heterosexual men who never thought they'd do this until they needed the money.

hahahahaha
