Don't use Mono... It sucks really.
Works pretty well in unity.  But that's as an embedded language (it's very nice to embed I've been told) rather than as a stand-alone thing.  I don't know about what it's like for bundling standalones.  I don't know of any games that are 100% mono-based.

is space chem done in mono? IIRC I had a friend who had trouble running it on linux because she didn't have the proper version of mono installed.
