You probably have your screens badly calibrated because on my screen it looks fine. It is saturated just about right.

The only things that look weird in that screenshot are the bridge and the chest as they have black borders and are just bright. I guess it's like that for a reason - to make them stand out more (as they are usable stuff unlike the rest of the tiles) but IMO it's too much. I would tone it down a little.

In my opinion this is just not enough of brightness in current version of graphic. It is too dim, to grey. So I began to carefully add the bright and more coloristic elements in current monotone style.
Something like that:
