I think the gui elements may be a bit too spread out? It would be nicer to have everything in a place where you could get all relevant information at a single glance rather than having to look around at different parts of the screen to get a full assessment. You might also see what elements you can relegate to a menu or that you can hide and only show when requested or relevant: two maps seems a bit much and unnecessary to be in constant view.

I know it's WIP, but I also feel that tiles and objects clash rather unevenly. It's like two different pixel artists worked on them, and they couldn't agree on a style.

EDIT: Also, here's my feedback on the UI... Evil

(The overall feedback is still Gentleman though!)

These graphics are so beautiful! I could see this like published by Nintendo on one of their consoles.

I have been checking up on this game periodically. It is looking great. I love the direction it is taking.

I do agree with eobet that the tiles are visually confusing. I think one thing that could potentially alleviate the problem is to not have the top of the walls line up with the floor tiles.

Keep up the good work!

Some comments on your gui.

1. Try to cluster important elements (life, mana, actions).
2. Move the the most important UI elements where you have a good view of the character and these elements at the same time.
3. Move seldomly used or unimportant things to the corners.
4. Try to minimize eye-movement while playing.
5. A dark background for your gui elements could help to distinguish them better from the game world.
6. You saturated use of color for the ui elements in the left, top corner are a little bit too much. Try to use eye-catching ui elements only if they are really important for some action. You game world should pop up and your ui only if something important is happening (animation will attract more attention than color). I.e. a blinking health bar when you are low on health.

PS: the overall look and art style is really awesome

I keep referring to this thread, when I need awesomeness to inspire me. Even the way you're showing this art and the UI in cute, perfectly aligned jpgs, down to the perfect font for it, to the little details, man, this is SO inspiring.

It doesn't look very clogged, just busy. (and only on the bottom)

I don't like the rainbow map.

Also I assume that chest notification doesn't stay, and that being gone will help.
