Frostbite is my Ludum Dare 22 entry, the theme was Alone.
Some screenshots:

The game is about a post apocalyptic soldier in a watchtower going mad on a nuclear winter, seeing things and with some serious memory problems.
It's just a simple moody platformer, maybe a little too serious and pretentious :D

Controls are explained ingame but in case you have any trouble:
X: Jump
C: Action/Shoots

F4: toggles fullscreen
Esc: Instantly quits the game

And some tips:
- Aways get all provisions (pile of stuff) and eat them if you health is low
- Aways sleep on a bed if you have the chance
- Watch for your ammo.
- Ghosts just makes you feel colder, so, sometimes you don't need to shoot them.

Used GameMaker 8.1, Graphics Gale, Drumcircle, Pxtone, Sfxr, Photoshop, Paint Tool Sai and Audacity.

If you joined LD22 rate my game here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-22/?action=rate&uid=7981

Or if you just want to download it, the link is: DOWNLOAD (windows)
(btw if someone can help me port this to other OS I would be very thankful :D)

I haven't played and rated it yet but the gameplay video looks great.
It reminds me of a similar game that was posted on TIG maybe one year ago ; it was a sidescrolling exploration/survival game with similar graphics — anyone remembers it ?

Oh, in that case I starve to death long before I can sleep in a bed. ):

I love survival game. This one was really good. There are a few grammatical errors and spelling mistakes near the end of the game, though. Those sort of broke the immersion.

Thanks Smiley And sorry about the spelling mistakes... I mean, it's 48 hours and I'm Brazilian  Grin so, it happens sometimes Tired But I plan to do a revised version of the game with some fixing some bugs and unbalanced stuff too!

Also, I updated the download link, here's the new one: http://higherorderfun.com/stuff/Frostbite.exe

Really fantastic game.  Excellent atmosphere.  I really liked the music as well.  However, especially with a game this polished, you really need to get rid of that default GameMaker loading bar.  I also kind of wish there were checkpoints, although the threat of restarting definitely ads to the survival aspect, but I died from falling into the water on this one kinda hard jump, and I was getting near the end, so that was frustrating.  But, all in all, a really great game.

I really enjoyed this game. A great atmosphere and an interesting gameplay. Smiley
It was my favorite one in LD22.
I wish it was longer.
