The best for me is Opera, as a stealer of html, css, and js, seeming that it's 'Dragonfly' tool can pretty conveniently pry into the inner-workings of a site. The turbo feature helps keep internet bills low and make my experience all the much faster, and also is by default a clean looking interface. The options are extensive and make everything easy. But the best thing of all is tab stacking. Makes doing 'things' all the lot more private and hidden.

And yes, this is yet another browser war thread.

I also use Opera, though I also have Chrome and IE for pages that break in Opera (*cough Google Docs cough cough*), and for stuff that makes extensive use of HTML5.

I could probably find most, if not all, of the functionality I like in Opera in Chrome or Firefox's extensions, but I've been using Opera long enough and have gotten so used to it that I can't be bothered configuring another browser much.

Firefox has always been my favourite because of its configurability. It is also slow on boot and grows enormously with # of tabs open (I currently have ~400 of which ~375 aren't loaded and the memory footprint is about 1.5GB).

Opera is my second favourite and the only reason, especially for web development due to Dragonfly, it isn't my first choice is because it is unstable with some web pages; in particular Youtube, where it crashes frequently.

I've always loathed IE. Chrome would be nice but for the fact that it beams usage data on you home to the mothership.

Shoulda made it a poll.

Firefox was the superior alternative to Internet Explorer when I started using it.

Now I'd prefer Chrome for its speed, if only it had half the add-ons I'm using on Firefox.

Hmm, Opera's never crashed for me on Youtube (though there were initially some glitches with certain features recently when they redesigned the front page). I have more trouble with Gmail (the font when I compose an email is really tiny, and sometimes it just decides to use 100% CPU) and Google Docs (presentations in particular seem to break in every browser I try except Chrome).

On my desktop, IE9 actually works pretty well. Starts up fast, and the GPU-accelerated rendering gives it the best HTML5 performance out of the browser's I've tried.

I used Opera for a long time, then switched to Safari because my PC was having issues with Flash on other browsers. I got used to Safari despite it being not exactly good. Then I tried Chrome and I like it the best, it's very fast and has some really nice "apps".

I use Firefox for the interface and add-ons. Chrome is fast, but the interface is kind of weird, and it's really not much faster than Firefox. I've never liked Opera, the interface is way too complicated. Too much customization. Who wants to customize a browser when it takes an hour to figure out what all of the options do?

I absolutely love Chrome. Super speedy, syncs my bookmarks between computers (without the need for an extension), and a minimal interface.

I used to use Firefox but after a time it started using way too much memory and crashing on a regular basis (usually with Unity webplayers or YouTube). I switched to Chrome because it was fast, didn't have the same issues I had with FF, and syncs my bookmarks and such between computers. I can't comment on addons though because aside from themes I never used any.

Chromium. It's nice but the one bad thing is that I can't seem to disable blurry scaling of images...

I used to use Firefox, but I stopped when they introduced their rapid release schedule or whatever they call it.

It just became too hard to maintain, and extensions that work one week may not work the next week when Firefox 3000 launches.

So I [very reluctantly] switched to Chrome. Most of my Firefox extensions have some (usually crappier) Chrome equivalent.

But I hate hate HATE Chrome's interface - it's horrible! And I've never really liked Google's data "security" (or lack thereof) policies.

So I use Chrome, but don't really like it.

Ha! I use a custom made browser running separately on an embedded system. I use freaking FireWire to feed the graphics stream to my computer. Cool

So you switched from firefox, currently just released 9 after 8 weeks from v8, to Chrome, who is now on something like 18?
