I work for a San Francisco gaming start-up, and we're trying to find ways work with talented indie Flash developers.  What's the best way to contact people?  What ways to indie developers prefer to partner with companies -- freelancing, licensing, etc.?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

FlashGameLicense is a good way. The forums there are full of friendly flash devs. There also are a couple of guys here.

As far as I know, freelancing is the most common form of business dealings done in flash dev, but its hard to say. I'd say choose whichever is most appropriate for your circumstances, or wait until you've found someone you'd like and then ask what they'd prefer.

Flash Game License is all right if you're looking to sponsor a game, though I can't tell if that's what you want to do. I very rarely go on there, myself. I suggest browsing sites like Newgrounds, finding their websites, and contacting the developers you like directly if you're looking for something beyond a simple sponsorship.

Why do you specifically want indie flash developers? Because we're cheaper..?
Just asking because I checked out your website, but I don't see why you'd be specifically interested in indie developers.
