Good day, talented gentlemen and gentleladies!

I am currently working on a small action/RPG project, featuring previously unheard of elements like dungeon crawling, dialouge, stat improvement and boss fights!
I. The ProjectThe little bit of story there is will focus (the engine and dungeon elements are currently in their last phases, then I'll work on story and npcs) on saving a town from the horrific dangers lurking in the dungeons and nature around them. The hero himself is old and gray-haired (who used to be a teenaged boy who saved the world once), and will be an attempt at poking fun of the previously mentioned trope. Special abilities that fits his old age can be expected as well.
I'm doing the whole thing in Game Maker 8.1, seeing as it's the one program I can do something useful in without clawing my own face off in frustration. I have started and abandoned countless projects, for the simple reason that I've never felt comfortable enough doing the graphics myself. I think it's hard and tedious, and lays in the way of actually implementing fun and original ideas that I have all the time. In the end I always hit a dead end when I can't sprite or animate a large game feature. So this is an attempt at actually finishing a game, with the help of someone.
II. YouYou need to be a happy artist, pixels or other, that can create both tiles, backgrounds and animated sprites. The game wont have an advanced graphical style,
just something that makes it fairly recognizable. Right now it sports my own sprites, which are simple and very lo-fi. However I can't keep on doing them if I want to finish
the game, which I really want to. It's not going to be a massive workload, and you will have a fairly free way to interpret the sprite descriptions (meaning that the
graphical design is in your hands, as long as we're both happy with them).
III. MeYou wont get a chance at looking at the messy code of the game, because it's simply embarrasing. I'm not a seasoned programmer in any way, but if I want a feature,
I'm getting it in there, basically. If you feel like the game doesn't live up to the standards you want to put your name on, feel free to say so. This is me trying something new so that I can finally finish one of my games.
I will add screenshots (maybe a video?) when I get home from work, and one piece of concept art provided by a friend, that gives you a good feel for the main character.Until then, ask questions! I don't want anyone saying yes without knowing exactly what they're going to do.
EDIT:

So here's some concept art that I think would be really cool to apply in game. At the moment, in game looks like this:

Please do tell what you think. I really hope someone gets interested!
