Description:
Rocket Leaper is a platform arcade game originally developed for GMC Jam #3, since then, I liked the idea so much that I started redoing the game from scatch with better graphics, sound FX, gameplay mechanics, etc. The basic concept is that you can use your freeze-gun to shoot at rockets, they stop moving, and then you use them as platforms to go higher and escape from rising slime/soda/superjuice3000.

I've been encouraged to post some feedback to users and since you havn't had any replies, i thought it would be nice to say hello and that your post hasn't gone unnoticed.

Your game looks interesting.

Reminds me alot of the animated film, Robots.  Which i think was a Pixar film.  Although i might be wrong there.

The game mechanic of shooting rockets to use as platforms is quite novel.

And the rising slime is a tried and tested game mechanic too.

I loved it's use in Rainbow Islands.  One of my all time favourite platform games.

I must say, i expect the lack of replies are simply due to the basic graphics.

I'm sure if you had much prettier visuals you'd get alot of feedback.

I watched your youtube video and must say the static screenshots don't do the game justice.
It definately looks alot better in the video than it does in the static screenshots.

This would make a great phone app game.

Simple gameplay but it looks quite addicitve.

Looks well programmed too.

You know, this reminds me.

About the time Rainbow Islands was ported the home micros back in the 90's, i wrote something similar for the C64.

It was only ever a demo, proof of concept idea but it was along similar lines to your game.

But my version was much cuter and required the player to shoot bugs, which stopped mid flight, which the player could jump on to use as platforms.

Had totally forgotten about it until i started posting here.   Grin

All the best.

I used MS Paint to draw the graphics so I can see what you're saying about it not being 'flashy'. I may try to find someone to do an overhaul of the graphics sometime.

Thanks for the comment Smiley
