I decided to implement a palette-cycled plasma effect in my game. Can't quite decide whether the higher-definition one looks too out of place with the rest of the graphics. It's the same pixel resolution as the rest of the screen, but those sine functions make it incredibly silky. Both are nice to look at, either way!
