These are nice! Except.. everything that's rotated kind of stands out against the low-fi pixels. If possible I'd suggest making rotated versions. Also the player isn't quite alligned with the other pixels either.

It looks nice, but you REALLY need to decide on a pixel resolution and stick to it- conflicting pixel resolutions tend to make the whole game look lazy.

You mean the lasers and particle effects in the third screenshots? Everything else should be 8x8 sprites.

Specifically, the resolution of the tiles is twice that of the character. The lasers are an even bigger offender.

I shall play around and see if I can get something that looks good. No, please don't. Finally a game where this overused pixelated look is cleverly mashed up. If you got smooth rotation/scaling animations to go with this, I'd suggest sticking to it.

Momeka, if you want to keep things consistent, I would recommend drawing everything at 1x pixel resolution, then scaling the entire screen afterward. That way, everything stays pixel-aligned.

Really awesome stuff everyone! I've been working on an improved version of my ludum dare puzzle game for android and iOS tablets. All the positive and constructive feedback from fellow ludum people has really helped and I'm excited to get the game out there.
