Preserve Station Alpha?
No, this one makes my stomach ache a bit. loll. It doesn't pop. Probably "Eco-Station Omega" or "Echo Station" or just "Echo"

The only issue with "Environmental Station Alpha" (which isn't a big one at all, but it still is one) is that it's a bit long and doesn't roll nicely off the tongue like a title should.
That's my opinion in a nutshell. If you can find something that conveys the same lack of information yet still giving enough information with fewer syllables, I'm all ears. Also, I don't find a problem with using a non-English word for the title, especially if it also has an English word in the title as well. (EG: Eristys Alpha, as suggested by Noby/Mokesmoe). However, it doesn't convey the fact that the game's in space.

Thank you all for the great (and sometimes not that great) name suggestions! I'm really liking some of them here, but I think I'll turn them around in my head for a bit before changing anything. I feel that the need for a catchier name will become relevant only when I release the next trailer or other such piece of news. As for the rest of the game, I'm starting to get some kind of an idea for the temple area. It'll probably have slight La-Mulana-ish themes, although the puzzles wont be half as tough. There'll probably be a few completely unique to the temple, though. The powerup I planned to replace the bomb is almost working now, but I really need to figure out how to make it look cool; the placeholder art is ridiculously ugly. Gifs shall ensue once I feel that the look is right.

That wouldn't really solve the problem, since it'd just be an acronym of the name.
Anyway, I have fully planned out the temple area now! Once the new powerup is fully functional, I'll start working on the new area. Apart from spriting a new tileset, the temple shouldn't take too long to finish.

I admit it's not as marketable as something short and sweet like Psychonauts or Halo or Half Life but it appeals to me on a personal level. I think, aesthetically, if anything about the name needs to change it's "Environmental". It's unwieldy but it still seems to capture the atmosphere of the game perfectly.
Personally I think Eristys is a beautiful word and defines the game well but would need to be explained to non-Finnish players.
So why not "Eristys: Environmental Station Alpha"? You can say Eristys is the name of the station, and people can choose between Erystis, Eristys:ESA or the full name at their whim.

A simple WIP of the new powerup. I've had some problems finding a design that looks and feels satisfying, but isn't overpowered or too busy graphically.

Hempuli, I really must say: I drool over everything you make, because it all looks gorgeous, and this is no exception. I'm drooling over those pixels, man. <3
I'm really eager to see what this turns into! It looks really fun.

Yeah, I like your style too. I think the power-up seems really too short-ranged - it seems like you'll destroy yourself trying to use it - it seems like you took a hit with the first enemy due to trying to get too close to it with the shield. It is a shield, right?

Agreed with Solar, the shield/attack barely covers your body. Are you able to keep it active or does it have a certain amount of time before it disappears again?

Currently it works so that hitting an enemy or a bullet makes the shield disappear, damaging the enemy and granting you a short time of invincibility. Basically it's like a one-time shield against all damage with an extra of countering it. (I didn't take any damage in that gif, I just need to work on the visual effect.)

Ahh, so the flashing just signified the invincibility, rather than taking damage. Maybe if there were an HUD we could see if the health/armor/durability/whatever bar goes down, at least.

I guess the flashing indicated damage (as it would normally happen without the shield) but it should have been turned-off because the character actually didn't taky any damage.

Kasran was actually correct. The blinking indicates invincibility, so getting hit with the shield on counters the damage and makes you blink for a short while. I'll have to work on the visual look, for sure. And keep in mind that there is a HUD that shows your health etc, but I seldom include it in the GIFs because it's not very interesting to look at.

Well, I think that the character shouldn't blink at all. I'm used to blink indicating damage. Imo just turn-off the shield on damage and let the char without any blinking or other effects.

Blinking has traditionally indicated the after-damage invincibility period ever since games like super mario bros.
