Play it online.

I might as well show off this thing I did this month.

This is a roguelike inspired by the Japan-only Game Boy game Cave Noire. I'm told it's also quite similar to Paganitzu (which I've never heard of) and Chip's Challenge.

All of the enemies in this game move in basic, predictable patterns - straight lines, clockwise loops, etc. Your character is too weak to endure more than a few fights, so you must avoid the enemies outright by keeping just out of their range. Enemies can only attack you if you finish a turn directly next to them (and vice versa).

Just like Cave Noire, this game consists of a selection of missions. Complete a mission, and you unlock a slightly harder version of that mission with more potential room designs and monsters.

One last thing: The game is intentionally illiterate and innumerate - neither letters or numbers appear anywhere. This was an additional design constraint that is inspired primarily by my experience playing Cave Noire untranslated. Cave Noire did a very good job of making each of its item icons as transparent and obvious as it could - I know I haven't reached that apogee in this game, but I believe I made a decent attempt in this game. And I guess you might consider the mystery and discovery of ambiguous looking items to be one of the "charms" of the roguelike genre?

That's enough to say about this, I think.
