So, I've been looking over this section of the TIGS forum, and I can't help but feel like Toronto is sorely lacking in Indie presence. I know Capy is here, but other than that, I just have no idea who is around.
So I'm writing this as an open call to make contact with Toronto/Southern Ontario Indies. The resources seem lacking, and that bothers me, so here it is!
Consider this a loose contact area. I don't know what my intention of even posting this is beyond knowing I'm not alone. It would just be great to hear from you guys!

I'm returning to TO in about a month. There seems to be a lot of jams as art going on, kind of infiltrated by the OCAD crowd. Whatevs. The more the merrier.

While I'm in southern Ontario, Toronto is still a bit far north of me -- about a five hours drive along the 401.
I've only been to Toronto once, merely to cover a protest at Queen's Park about an issue so specific I forget what it was. Compared to my normal town, Toronto is a totally alien environment.
... but I suppose some indie stuff in Toronto is better than no indie stuff out here in the middle of nowhere.

As someone who is involved in the Ottawa Indie scene, Toronto has a wayyyy more healthier indie scene! Even more then Montreal, maybe not in terms of straight numbers, but at-least in super interesting things going on.
Check out Gamer-camp, check out what's going on at the Universities and Colleges in town, go to Snakes and Lattes where they have game developers nights.
Check out Dames making games.
But yeah, if you think you don't have any indie stuff around, start one and start getting known, you will be surprised how many like minded people there are.

I've totally been to Snakes and Lattes!!! That place is amazing. I think my hangup is that I'm about an hour outside of Toronto, so I haven't had the opportunity to actually MEET people from this area. Hand Eye Society looks really interesting. I signed up, so hopefully something cool will come of that. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Hand Eye Society is cool, they haven't done many meet-ups lately though.
I'm currently in Toronto and developing games, so there's that. :p

Bumping this thready just to say both Shawny and I are in Ontario but Toronto is a fair drive for me (can't speak for Shawny). I'd go to a meet-up/jam if it was big enough though!

droqen is here as well, and several others I know via Twitter but not on TIGS.

I'm in toronto but I can't really get involved in the hand eye society because they generally meet in bars and I'm not of legal drinking age yet. I have heard of snakes and lattes and I've been meaning to go there but havent had anyone to go with. I didn't know that they had game developer nights though, when and where do they usually announce the dates for those kind of things. I would love to go to a jam or even just a meet up. Maybe I will get inspired to actually be productive and make something...

@Rob Lach I never said the Toronto Indie scene wasn't healthy, I was just concerned it wasn't well advertised to people like me who want to become more involved.
I'm about 45 minutes east of Toronto and am in the city all the time. It would be really cool to meet up some time.
This is all reassuring news guys. It would be nice to get to know some of you a little better, I feel so alone out here in suburbia. If ever there's a jam going on, or we wanna get something small together, I would love to hear about it.
