Thanks for the support. I'll probably write something about the game mechanics when the game starts to play like one. I don't want to give false hopes in the meantime.

Update 6

I spent my whole day on the train (to and back from Paris) but I still managed to complete the code I started yesterday regarding pushing things around. I also wrote the first lines of a new particle system for my framework. The previous one was not GPU accelerated and thus super slow, I feel like changing that!

No news from Pierre today but here's a concept art anyway. Evil tentacles want you dead!

Update 7

Today I worked on my new particle system. The whole thing is basically working, it needs optimization and more effects/options but these will probably wait until I need them.
Pierre made the last concept art we need for our demo but I wasn't super happy with it. I feel sort of guilty for sending him back to the drawing board :x

Today's eye-candy will be a tiny example of the particle engine. Even though it hasn been optimized at all, I'm curious about the framerate you experience.

@Randomasta > This is going to be playable in a browser through Flash Player (and a desktop version is unlikely).

Update 8
Today I did lots of optimization in my particle system code and I started designing some game UI. Tadaaaam.





The background texture is a bit shitty and needs some artist love (soon). The icons are placeholders from other games.

Update 9

Today I added a few more options to the particle system and optimized (even more) the rendering pipeline. Next in line is some UI programming =)

Pierre made a concept art for the monster god Orthrus' which was the last one we needed. He also made a proper texture for the menu background and started animating the main character sprite. Today's eye-candy, Orthrus :
