Yeah to elaborate. I do my design and drawing outside but code indoors because the sun does not work with laptops.

It's worth going outside whether you're doing manual labor or not. If I had a laptop I'd spend probably 3* as much time outdoors, probably not far away from a coffee shop. You feel better just getting fresh air and sunshine.

My productivity has always been very tied to the environment I'm in, so going outside is a big no Sad
I can't work in my own room because "it doesn't feel right". I always work in the living room.
I went to a library a couple of times with some fellow students. But I just couldn't work there, even though it was very quiet.

Anyone else has this "problem", or am I just a weirdo?

It's too hot or too wet to be outside down here. Any time it's just "warm" is when there's wasps and bees everywhere. I hate those things.

It's incredible outside recently. If I could see my laptop screen I would work outside all day. Instead I sit by an open window and go for walks with my sketchbook.

If I wasn't a sole designer I would consider a park jam, or maybe even a camping jam with folks.

Maybe a camping jam would work well for making board games. I'm not sure how long those take to make but it seems like a weekend-long board game jam in the woods could work.

I like where this thread has gone, by the way.

I've tried before but I just can't see my laptop screen very well if there is much sunlight. And I miss my 2 24" monitors inside.

I have been working full time on a game for the past month. Today I decided I needed to get out of the house (you see, I'm in Australia and the weather is too nice right now). I decided I could do some writing and even though I didn't actually write a whole lot, I did come up with a couple of good ideas for the story which I had been stuck on.

Anyway, the point being that while working outside is not feasible all the time, an occasional change of scenery can help get the creative juices going.

My apartment is next to a new hotel in construction and there is a lot of noise from the morning till 5pm and that's when I work the most. I have a big shopping mall near but I don't know if I can find a power source and comfy place, neither I tried yet .

PD: No starbucks where I live Concerned

Very rarely can I work in coffee shops.
I mostly go to draw people in secret.
I consider going to work at one of the libraries.
I have my best ideas while walking or taking a bike ride.
I never fell off my bike until I started game dev, I have a nasty scab on my shoulder, forearm, hand and knee (right side) and bruises on my left.

here's a thought, a computer with a screen like the kindle, two colors, tinted green/yellow backdrop and black lettering, and a painting program with a wide range of black, text editor and compiler.  I would love that.

I'm usually devving it up all the time, talking sweet words to my partner, laboring under the sun, meditating, watching adventure time/evangelion, reading comics.

the game I'm piecing together doesn't exist yet in a physical form.
it's almost complete, graphics lack definition, but game play is there.

I'm clever

Oh man, sometimes I go outside and draw or write. I really wish I could spend more time outside, but I definitely make an effort to everyday for at least a half-hour.  Embarrassed
